Start your skincare brand: the checklist

Everything a first launch needs, split between what we handle and what stays with you. Tick items as you go, and print the list for your team.

1Plan and budget

KoreanOEM

It itemizes formula, packaging, decoration, tests, documents and freight.

You

One hero product in one market is the simplest start. Most skincare starts at 500 units.

Estimate the product cost with the budget planner, then add your launch and selling costs.

2Brand and company

KoreanOEM

Send the logo you have. We fit it to the container and label you choose.

You

Search the official databases before you pay for a logo or print labels. See the trademark guide.

A business that signs the order, owns the brand and imports the goods. Your accountant or local registry can advise.

A vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) and your brand colors. See label and packaging design.

3Formula and samples

KoreanOEM

Lab samples in about two weeks, with the full INCI list. A custom formula stays yours.

You

Nothing goes into production until you approve the sample.

4Packaging and label

KoreanOEM

Stock bottles, jars, tubes, vials and pumps carry no tooling cost. Custom colors, silk screen or hot stamping and printed boxes are quoted separately.

The items your market requires, laid out with your logo.

You

One number for each product and size, licensed to your company. See the barcode guide.

Check names, claims, net quantity and barcode digits before anything is printed.

5Production and documents

KoreanOEM

In an ISO 22716 (GMP) certified, FDA registered factory in Korea.

Planned into your timeline from the start.

FDA MoCRA listing (US), the CPNP notification file (EU), UK SCPN, and ASEAN, GCC and Japan requirements. See what we prepare.

You

A deposit when you order and the balance before shipment, never full prepayment.

For example an EU Responsible Person for the CPNP notification. We prepare the file, they submit it.

6Shipping and selling

KoreanOEM

Air takes about 5 to 10 days, sea about 4 to 6 weeks. Freight is priced in your quote.

You

Customs clearance at your end (a freight forwarder or customs broker can act for you) and a warehouse or 3PL to receive the goods.

Ask an insurance broker before launch. Amazon requires commercial liability insurance once your Amazon.com sales pass USD 10,000 in a month.

Your own store, Amazon, retailers or salons, each with its own listing and packaging rules. See retail-ready packaging.

Checklist questions

What do I need before I contact a skincare manufacturer?
Three answers: the product, the quantity and the market. A brand name, logo and budget help, but you can send a brief before they are final and get a written quote within 1 business day.
Who owns the barcodes, the brand or the manufacturer?
The brand. Under GS1 rules the brand owner is normally responsible for the product number, wherever the product is made, so you license the numbers from your GS1 office and we place them on your artwork.
Do I need a trademark before I launch?
No law makes you register a name before you sell, but file early. Registration takes months, a similar mark filed first can block yours, and Amazon Brand Registry needs a pending or registered trademark.
Which items can I skip on a first run?
None of the legal ones: the label rules, the documents for your market and a responsible person where one is required. You can keep costs down with a library formula, a stock container and a one-color label, and add custom packaging on a reorder.
