Label proof check for export, before anything is printed

Send us your artwork and the countries you sell in. We check every line against that market's label rules and against the formula we make for you, and send back a clear list of corrections.

Batch and date coding on filled skincare containers at our production line

What we check

  • The ingredient list: INCI names, order and spelling, matched to your formula
  • Fragrance allergens your market requires by name
  • Net content and units, such as fl. oz. and mL for the US
  • The date: expiry or best before date, or the PAO symbol
  • Required warnings, directions and precautions
  • The responsible company: Responsible Person, importer or distributor name and address
  • The US contact for adverse event reports under MoCRA
  • Country of origin: Made in Korea
  • Required languages, such as English and French for Canada
  • Claims that would make the product a drug or quasi-drug
  • Room for the batch number and the barcode

What it is not

  • Not a design service. Your designer makes the artwork and the changes; we do not design labels, logos or boxes.
  • Not a legal opinion. In the EU and the UK your Responsible Person signs off the label as part of the product file.
  • Not a registration. MoCRA, CPNP, SCPN and other filings are separate, listed on our fees page.

Print specs and dielines are on label and packaging design.

How it works

1
You send the artwork

A PDF or AI file of each label and box, and the countries where you will sell.

2
We check it

Against the label rules of each market and the INCI list of your formula.

3
You get corrections

A numbered list: what to change, where and why, with the exact wording to use.

4
You approve the proof

Your designer updates the file, we check it again, and nothing is printed until you approve.

Why a check from your manufacturer catches more

A label reviewer who never sees your formula can only check the wording. We make the product, so we can see that the ingredient list matches what is in the bottle, that every allergen above the threshold is named, that the PAO fits the stability data, and that a claim such as "with 5% niacinamide" is true.

The most common corrections we send are a missing Responsible Person or importer address, ingredients out of order, "Water" or "Aqua" used the wrong way for the market, a net content in only one unit system for the US, a missing "Made in Korea", and claims such as "treats acne" or "heals" on a cosmetic.

Markets we check

The United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and the rest of Southeast Asia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the Gulf, and India. The rules for each one are in our label requirements by country guide, and the ingredient, date and claim details in ingredient lists, PAO and claims.

What to send us

  • The artwork file of each label, and of the box if you have one.
  • The countries where you will sell, and the marketplaces, such as Amazon or TikTok Shop.
  • The name and address of your company, importer or Responsible Person in each market.
  • Your claims and product name, exactly as they will appear.

When it happens

The check runs while your samples are approved and your packaging is prepared, so it adds no time to production. It is part of every order we print labels for. Registrations, Responsible Person services and tests are listed on our fees page.

Frequently asked questions

Do you check labels for the EU and the UK?
Yes. We check the Responsible Person details, the ingredient list with named fragrance allergens, the date or PAO, the batch number, precautions, the function and the country of origin. Your Responsible Person gives the final sign-off as part of the product information file.
Do you check the MoCRA contact on US labels?
Yes. Since December 29, 2024 a US cosmetic label must give a US address, US phone number or electronic contact, such as a website, for adverse event reports. We check it together with the net content in US units, the ingredient order and the country of origin.
Will you fix the artwork for me?
No. We do not design or edit artwork. We send a clear list of corrections with the exact wording, your designer makes the changes, and we check the new file before printing.
How do you know the ingredient list is right?
We make the formula, so we compare your list with the formula's INCI list, including the order and the named allergens. The full INCI list is shared with you after our mutual NDA is signed.
